Accreditation

NAAC SSR software: one workspace for IQAC, from metrics to approval

Accreditation work fails on coordination, not effort. Give IQAC one list of what is answered, what has evidence and what is ready.

The usual way

Why SSR preparation is so hard

  • Metrics are owned by twenty people

Deans, HODs and coordinators each hold a piece, and IQAC chases them by phone and WhatsApp.

  • Evidence lives in email and folders

Files named Final_SSR_v7 sit in inboxes, and nobody is sure which version backs which metric.

  • Numbers are typed in again

Programme lists, enrolment and faculty strength are re-keyed from spreadsheets, so they differ from the live system.

  • Nobody can say what is still missing

A week before the deadline, the question is still which metrics are unanswered or have no evidence.

The workspace

What the NAAC workspace does

  • A Self-Study Report pack for every year

IQAC opens the year's pack and sees every metric: answered, unanswered, draft or submitted, against the threshold.

  • Evidence attached to the metric

Upload or link supporting files to the metric and the year, and review them. A count shows how many metrics still have no evidence.

  • Versioned metric catalogue

You work against a versioned catalogue, so a framework change does not overwrite last cycle's answers.

  • Readiness at a glance

See the pack's approval status and the readiness of binary and maturity-based graded-level metrics where they apply.

  • Autofill from your records

Pull live figures such as programmes offered, enrolment and faculty strength from the ERP, instead of re-keying them.

  • Review and approval with two people

IQAC reviews and the Principal or management approves. The same person cannot do both, and an edit after approval reopens the pack with a trail.

Covers the Extended Profile and all seven criteria

  • EPExtended Profile
  • C1Curricular Aspects
  • C2Teaching-Learning and Evaluation
  • C3Research, Innovations and Extension
  • C4Infrastructure and Learning Resources
  • C5Student Support and Progression
  • C6Governance, Leadership and Management
  • C7Institutional Values and Best Practices

How IQAC works in it

From the first metric to sign-off

  1. 1

    Open the year's pack

IQAC sets up the pack for the cycle and assigns contributors.

  2. 2

    Answer metrics and add evidence

Departments fill their metrics, use autofill where it applies, and attach evidence.

  3. 3

    IQAC reviews

IQAC checks answers and evidence. The last editor cannot review their own work.

  4. 4

    Leadership approves

The Principal or management approves, a different person from the reviewer.

The workspace sits inside Tuling SIS, so figures like programmes and enrolment come from the same records you run the college on. Faculty qualifications and compliance tracking sit in Tuling HCM. The full access and approval controls are on the security page.

Choosing software

Questions to ask any NAAC software vendor

Use these with us, and with anyone else you are considering.

  1. 1Does it follow a versioned metric catalogue, and keep your earlier cycles intact?
  2. 2Can IQAC see at a glance what is unanswered and what has no evidence?
  3. 3Does evidence stay linked to the right metric and year?
  4. 4Who can contribute, who can review and who can approve, and can one person do all three?
  5. 5Can you export criterion data for offline review or an external consultant?
  6. 6Does it use your student and staff records, or is everything typed in again?

Questions

NAAC SSR software, answered

What is NAAC SSR software?

It is software that helps a college prepare its NAAC Self-Study Report: it organises the metric answers, supporting evidence and approvals across the criteria, so IQAC can see what is complete and what is missing before submission.

Does Tuling generate the SSR document itself?

Tuling organises the metric answers, evidence and approvals that the report is built from, and you can export criterion packs as CSV or JSON for offline review. Confirm the output format you need during a demo.

Is Tuling affiliated with NAAC or UGC?

No. Tuling is independent software. Your college makes its submission through NAAC's own process, and the workspace helps you prepare and review the data.

Which criteria does it cover?

The Extended Profile and all seven criteria, with key indicators and quantitative and qualitative metrics.

Can we use it without the rest of the ERP?

The workspace is part of Tuling SIS. Autofill draws on your ERP records, so it works best alongside them.

Can different people work on different criteria?

Yes. IQAC assigns contributors, for example HODs for their own indicators. Contribution, review and approval are limited to the roles you assign, and everyone else has a read-only view.

What happens if a number changes after approval?

The pack is reopened to draft, and the change is recorded with who made it and when, so the history stays intact.

Tuling is independent software and is not affiliated with NAAC or the UGC.
