Colleges often ask for “admission software” when they mean two different things. One is about winning the applicant. The other is about processing the admission. Knowing which problem you have saves you from buying the wrong tool.
What does an admission CRM do?
A CRM, or customer relationship system, manages everything before the application is formal.
- Enquiry capture. Every call, walk-in and web form recorded in one place.
- Lead assignment. Each enquiry goes to a counsellor, so none is ignored.
- Follow-up. Reminders, calls and messages so no enquiry goes cold.
- Scoring. A view of which enquiries are most likely to convert.
Its question is: who should we contact today, and what happened last time?
What does an admission module do?
The admission module runs the formal process once someone applies.
- Application and forms, online or at the desk
- Document collection and checking
- Workflow and approvals, with a status on every application
- Merit lists and offers
- Fee challan and confirmation
- Enrolment, with an admission number and a student record
Its question is: where is this application, and what is stopping it?
Which one do you need?
| Your main problem | Start with |
|---|---|
| Enquiries go cold or are never followed up | CRM |
| Counsellors cannot see who has been contacted | CRM |
| Applications and documents are chased by hand | Admission module |
| Merit lists and fee confirmation take too long | Admission module |
| Both of the above | Both, connected |
Why does the connection matter?
If the CRM and the admission module do not talk to each other, someone has to re-enter every accepted applicant. That is the same problem you were trying to remove. Ask how an accepted applicant moves across, and whether the programme and details come with it.
How does Tuling handle this?
Tuling CRM is a separate app for enquiries, scoring and counsellor follow-up. Tuling Admissions is the admission desk inside the ERP. When an application is accepted in the CRM, it arrives in the admission desk’s intake queue with an invite link for the applicant, and the sync status is shown. Either one works without the other, so you can start with the one that hurts more.

A simple rule
If your problem is getting applicants, start with a CRM. If your problem is processing applicants, start with an admission module. If you have both, choose software where one hands over to the other.
Frequently asked questions
What is an admission CRM?
It is software for managing enquiries and follow-up, with lead assignment, scoring, calls and messages, so counsellors know who to contact next.
What does an admission module do that a CRM does not?
It runs the formal admission: the application, document checks, merit list, fee challan and enrolment, ending in a student record.
Can we use only a CRM?
You can, but you will still need another way to process applications, documents and fees. A CRM alone usually stops at the offer.
Do the two need to be from the same vendor?
Not necessarily, but they must connect. Check how an accepted applicant moves from one to the other.
